Triangle Block Smith's Vineyard Chardonnay
Wine
A. Rodda Triangle Block Smith's Vineyard Chardonnay draws from a tiny section of just 183 vines planted in a triangular shape. Part of the Smith's Vineyard's original 1978 planting, it consistently produces quality fruit.
The grapes are whole bunch pressed to new and second use oak barrels without clarification or racking. The juice ferments without temperature control. Once the ferment is complete, the wine is sulphured to preserve freshness and acidity.
After maturing for 12 months on lees, the wine is transferred to older oak to age for a further six months prior to bottling.
Bright straw, A. Rodda Triangle Block Smith's Vineyard Chardonnay is complex and intense with a velvety texture, mouth watering acidity and savoury phenolics. The finish is long and precise.
It is the winery's top tier Chardonnay, the product of only the best growing seasons. Cellaring potential is five years.
